ℹ Wanting to grow Asparagus but don't want to struggle with bareroots or seeds for 3 years before being able to enjoy a harvest? Look no further, we have established and rooted crowns in 1 gallon pots that you can enjoy harvesting from this year! Millennium Asparagus is a newer variety that was awarded "Seed of the Year" in 2005 at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto. When you realize the advantages it is no surprise why! Developed by Professor David Wolyn of the University of Guelph in Canada, Millennium Asparagus has been proven to out yield nearly all other Asparagus varieties! It has high quality flavor that is matched with its tight purple tipped, uniform spears, which allow for harvesting a taller spear and thus more pounds per harvest! Developed in Canada, it tolerates cold springs and cold winters, resulting in a lower winter dieback rate than other varieties. Unlike typical asparagus varieties, Millennium will thrive in all soil types! An all male Asparagus variety, crowns produce far more spears than female crowns. Millennium is sure to be a favorite of home gardeners and market gardens! Once established your asparagus will continue to produce year after year.
