ℹ An absolutely amazing and ground breaking new Olive from the Nikita Botanic Garden in Yalta, Ukraine, Universal Olive Tree ™ has been under evaluation in our region for a few years and we are happy to say that it is growing exceptionally well with some winter protection. We have found that it is hardy to about -15c, but being a Dwarf, only growing to 12 feet tall, and being able to be kept smaller with minor pruning, it is easy to keep potted and move to a frost free area in winter, or protect with burlap or equivalent if planted in the ground, and your area experiences temperatures near or below -15c. Universal Olive Tree ™ is prized for its heavy crops of large, tasty fruit, that is high in oil and that ripen in October. Self Pollinating but will produce better if planted with Seascape Olive Tree or Nikita Jubilee™ Olive Tree. Wonderful for making delicious green or black Olives (depending on how ripe you pick them!)
