ℹ Discover the exceptional flavor of marionberries considered a blackberry variety but much more than meets the eye! Deserving of their own name and celebrated for their unparalleled sweetness, surpassing traditional blackberries! Born from a lineage of blackberry hybrid cultivars, marionberries inherit a unique blend of rich, fruity goodness. Their distinct taste, sweeter and juicier than regular blackberries, elevates your taste experience to new heights. Whether enjoyed fresh or incorporated into your favorite recipes, marionberries stand out with a remarkable flavor profile that sets them apart, making them a delicious choice for those seeking a berry with a superior and delightful taste. Considered one of the best flavored berries the world over.

Marionberries are a cross between the Chehalem and Olallieberry. The Olallieberry has the physical characteristics of the classic blackberry, but it is genetically about two-thirds blackberry and one-third red raspberry. The Chehalem berry is a cross between the Himalayan blackberry and the Santiam berry, which is itself a cross between the California blackberry and the Loganberry! Developed by the USDA Agricultural Research Service at Oregon State University in 1956, marionberries were named after Marion County in Oregon. This delectable hybrid inherits its unique flavor and characteristics from its parent berries, creating a distinct and beloved variety!
